Journey’s 2022 Freedom Tour to Begin in February

After wrapping up 2021 with a Las Vegas residency and a performance at Rockin’ Eve New Year’s, American rock band Journey is kicking off 2022 with their Freedom Tour, which is set to begin next month. The premiere will take place on February 22 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Joining the group on the tour is punk player Billy Idol and fellow rock band Toto, whose performances will vary by city. Billy Idol will open shows in the first part of the tour, from February to early April, and Toto will take over the opening act until the end of the tour in May. The full tour schedule can be found below.

“We look forward to turning to high standard and bringing you the best possible show,” Journey’s lead guitarist, Neil Sean, said in a statement. “The band is working on all twelve records and they are very excited! Please come and join us again for a fun-filled evening on stage.”

Sean posted the ad and a promotional video for the Freedom Tour on social media.

Idol and Toto also posted the announcement, with Toto member Steve Lucather saying, “On behalf of me and the band, it’s an honor and pleasure to take this tour along with the ride of our old and dear friends. It’s going to be a great music night, and since all the guys are lifelong friends…Blast off stage too. “.

The Freedom Tour isn’t Journey’s only big plan for 2022. On June 24, 2021, the band released their first new single since 2011, “The Way We Used to Be.” The song is also the lead single for their new album, which is due for release this year.

Freedom Tour tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster, the Journey website, the Idol website, and the Toto website. Tickets sell out quickly, so don’t miss out on one of the most popular sets of the past five decades.
