Thomas Rhett Reveals Details of Upcoming Sixth Album ‘Where We Started,’ Featuring Katy Perry

Thomas Rhett has revealed the details of his sixth album Where did we start? (The Valory Music Co.), released on April 1, and released the singles “Angels” and “Church Boots”.

Inspired by his return to the road after a layover during the Pandemic Tour, Where did we start? It features a number of guest spots including Katy Perry on the title track, along with collaborations with Riley Green, Ashley Gorley, Josh Thompson, Tyler Hubbard, Russell Dickerson, and more.

“For me, stepping into the artist’s headspace and back on stage was an exhilaration,” said Thomas Rhett. “When you go a year and a half without it, and then you feel it for the first time again, it’s the most wonderful thing in the world. That’s where my mind really was and where these songs came from — they’re some of my favorite songs that I’ve been a part of.”

He added, “I’m enjoying life a lot at the moment, collaborating with great artists, doing shows with my friends, and watching people smile from the stage. It really filled my soul.”

Produced by Dann Huff, along with co-producers Jesse Frasure and Matt Dragstrem, Where did we start? Features 15 songs co-written by Thomas Rhett except for the opening song “The Hill” penned by Laurie McKenna, Jordan Reynolds, and Emily Weisband.

A more introspective song, “Angels” deals with love and security in the lyrics I’m not the kind of guy who wakes up miracles beside / For too long I didn’t know what I had but, dang, these days I do / If I get to heaven, it’s hell But one look at you and I’ll be back And it provides a balance to the most innovative “church shoes”.

Rhett said in the trailer for “This album to me is one of my repeats.” Where did we start?. “Some of my favorite songs that I have to be a part of are on this album.”

Rhett, who is set to release his sequel country again project in 2022, Country back: side b, He said Where did we start? Give a song to everyone Occasions.

“There are songs that will make you cry on this recording,” Rhett said. “There are songs that will make you want to kiss your loved one. There are songs that will make you want to dance, and songs that will make you want to party.”
